Our teachers are dedicated education experts who are interested in using innovative teaching methods to enforce the foundational building blocks that today's students need. The Interactive Learning Channel uses a unique process of leveraging an online classroom with no more than 5 students in a class. During the class, the teacher focuses on the foundation the students are learning in the subject in school. Our program follows the state's curriculum per semester so each student in the class is usually from the same state for the duration of the semester.
It is a known fact that sometimes, students learn better from other students. The Interactive Learning Channel's program is structured to provide the student with every avenue to learn. Students can interact with the teacher and with each other using web conferencing tools like white boards, monitored chats and optional video via webcam between student and teacher.
At the end of each month a short quiz is given and discussed in class so teachers can gauge how well the individual student is grasping the material. A monthly report is sent to parents via email discussing the progress of their child. Involvement by parents ensures better success.
In addition, each structured class comes with 15 mentoring hours per semester. We believe that this should be sufficient for most students requiring some additional assistance. Students can even leave a "sticky note" on online material for the teacher who can respond via email to the student's question. Teachers typically will get back to students within 24 hours.
FAQs
Are 5 hours of mentoring enough?
The typical mentoring session is about 25 minutes long, but how long you spend with a tutor depends on you. The 5 hour plan gets you about 11 sessions every month. You can always purchase additional mentoring hours.
How long do I have to sign up for?
The Interactive Learning Channel structured class is based on a semester. You are charged once for each structured class on your credit card (AMEX, Visa or MasterCard) via PayPal each semester. You can cancel at any time (please see the Website Terms and Conditions for cancellation policy)
Do I pay less if the semester has holidays?
No. The price of classes takes into account holiday schedules. On major holidays (Christmas, New Year, Thanksgiving etc.) there are no scheduled classes or mentoring available. Please see the published schedule.
Do I need to schedule an appointment with a tutor or mentor?
No. Tutors are online between 4 PM and midnight in your time zone. You can check availability or you can just go online without an appointment. You can see if your favorite tutor is available and can schedule a time with them.
Can I get a refund?
If you are not satisfied with the structured class after taking the first class, please contact us and we will issue a refund of 80% of the cost of the class. Please see Website Terms and Conditions for more details.
What equipment do I need?
The only equipment you will need is a computer and internet access. A webcam is optional and only if the class allows interaction via video.
